• 9 Work Packages (WPs) resourced by 23 Industrial
  Entities (IEs)
• Representatives from each MoD form Management

• Determine and mitigate obstacles which prevent
  networked simulations being exploited in Europe
• Define a set of processes and tools which will
  provide European nations with a common baseline
  to support SE development life-cycles
• SE Requirements Capture
• SE Development, Execution and Evaluation
• SE Asset Management
• characterisation of simulation and SE assets
• storage, search and retrieval mechanisms via use
  of repository infrastructures

EUCLID 11.13 - Key SE Issues

• Potential of SEs are not being fully realised
  because
• SE requirements capture needs to be more rigorous
• SE Infrastructure Services need to be readily
  available and cost effective
• secure networks, standards, testing,
  repositories, shared data environments
• SE solutions are often perceived to be too costly
• SE analysis / assessment methods have not been
  fully addressed
• SE implementations are considered not to be
  flexible in many cases
• need to exploit information/data reuse, e.g.
  Synthetic Natural Environment data
• Exploitation of SEs within Europe requires
• Common processes
• Common tools
• Common standards
• Generic solution for all problem domains (e.g.
  training, rehearsal, acquisition)
