What is a portfolio?
  • Your ePortfolio is a learning portfolio. It shows
your learning and development over time.
  • A portfolio is a powerful tool
  • You select the items that are included.
  • You have the opportunity to explain why you chose
    each item.
  • It also lets you see how you have grown and
    changed over time.
  • A portfolio includes multiple items and responses
    to specific questions.

4
What is the purpose of your ePortfolio?
  • The ePortfolio helps you demonstrate your growth
on the five 21st Century Skills that will help
you be successful in the Information Age.
  • It can be used to show your range of skills and
abilities to potential employers and college
    admission representatives.
  • It can help you see your growth!

5
What is included?
  • Any school related item can be included.
  • Examples include
  • Electronic presentations
  • Research reports or papers
  • Email communication with a teacher or classmate
    about a project or assignment
  • A laboratory report written with a classmate

6
What is included?
  • You need an example from each of the five themes
  • Self-knowledge
  • Collaboration and Community
  • Communication Processes
  • Research and Assessment Tools
  • Technology Tools

7
What is included?
  • You also need a
  • Skills Resume
  • Personal Education Plan
  • Introduction of Self
  • Self-Reflective Video
  • You will submit an artifact for each of these at
the beginning of the year and at the end of the
    year.
  • Each artifact needs to include a written
    reflection.

8
How do I select artifacts?
  • Since this is a learning portfolio, any
school-related and school-appropriate item may be
    selected.
  • You should select items that
  • Show good work, but not necessarily your best
    work.
  • You think you can improve upon.
  • You are proud of and want to show off.
  • You are able to write a reflection about.
  • If you are unsure whether or not an item
qualifies, consult with classmates or your
    advisor.

9
What will it look like?
  • Your ePortfolio will be viewable to you, your
    advisor, teachers, and mentor(s).
  • The details of each submission will be up to you,
but everyones portfolio will have the same
    general appearance.

10
When is it due?
  • There are two submission deadlines
  • The first is before the end of the first
    semester.
  • The second is before the end of the year.
  • You will need to continually add submissions
throughout each semester as there is a lot of
work required for each section of the ePortfolio.
