APEX D-Au summary
  • We devoted considerable time (30) on issues that
are in the gray area between APEX and
developments (beta squeeze, knobs, etc). This is
a flexible model that works well, however
  • To complete even the A0 studies approved we would
need 4 sessions of APEX until the end of d-Au, 5
sessions with contingency (assuming present APEX
    uptime)
  • We really need the 3 planned sessions (January
16,23,27) at the end of d-Au

APEX in the PP run
  • The plans for PP advocates a (relatively)
conservative beta of 90 cm for operation with
development for lower beta (lt70cm) in APEX
  • At the same time we need to make sure that high
priority studies with polarized beams and
beam-beam studies get done as well
  • At the moment we have 3 APEX sessions planned
with one possible more at the end of the PP run.
If we do beta in APEX we will need the extra
time to do the rest of the program.
