Malaria is Still a Major Health Problem in
South-east of Iran
A total of 13717 cases were reported in 2002
66 of the malaria cases were reported from
three South-eastern provinces.

The Monitoring of Insecticide Resistance on
Malaria Vectors has been started as a Part of
National Malaria Control Programme from 2002 .

• Two four days workshops have been conducted on
  strengthening of vector control activities .

• 40 focal points of different university of
  Medical Sciences were attended in these workshops
  .

• Establishing of National Expert Committee
  including Entomology Vector control subunit as
  an active part of malaria control programme from
  the third part of year 2001 .

• For the first time a supplementary budget has
  been advocated by the Plan and Budgeting

  parts of the country , such as Leishmaniasis (
  14431 cases )
• CCHF ( 95 cases ) .
