  • You already feel happy if in a appraisal
    committee education is taken into account at all.
    But then you find out that other evaluation
    standards are applied. Such committee is already
    very satisfied with the slightest reference to
    education, for example if there is reference to
    somebody who once gave a lecture for unions
    representatives.
  • Whereas in the case of research there are
    criteria such as citations, articles in
    periodicals, congresses ... which are taken much
    more seriously.
  • Education is referred to more readily but without
    real commitment. In the end its the researcher
    that is ranked first.

    if you are teaching with somebody else, youll
    say he really can teach and that is somebody
    who cannot. But you are fully on your own ...
    No, to attend someones classes or invite
    somebody to yours ... and discuss it afterwards
    ... Thats really a taboo for you to break with.
