Provider Kindergarten Readiness Rates
  • History
  • The Florida Department of Education/State Board
of Education is required by law (F.S.
    1002.69(5)-(6)) to annually calculate a
kindergarten provider readiness rate for EACH
private or public school VPK provider for either
the School-Year (540 hr.) or the Summer (300hr.)
    program.

3
How it works
  • The VPK Provider Kindergarten Readiness Rate
measures how well a provider prepares 4 year olds
for kindergarten based on the Florida VPK
    Education Standards.
  • The Readiness Rate is based on the results of the
    statewide kindergarten screening (FLKRS) for
    children completing the VPK program.

FLKRS

  • FLKRS is composed of two instruments
  • 1. A subset of the Early Childhood Observation
    System (ECHOS)
  • 2. Two measurements of the Dynamic Indicators
    of Basic Early Literacy
    Skills (DIBELS)

  • Become a certified VPK Provider
