Brooklyn Dodgers

• Founded in 1883 as a member of the minor
  inter-state league
• Became part of the National League in 1890
• Originally nicknamed the Bridegrooms because
  many of the players were married prior to the
  1888 season.
• After more nicknames, the eventually adopted the
  name Dodgers which is short for Trolley
  Dodgers in 1932.
• Ebbets Field was their first home in Brooklyn,
  New York from 1913-1957.
• When they moved to Los Angeles they played in the
  Los Angeles Memorial Colissium from 1958-1961.
• From 1962 to the present they now play at Dodger
  Stadium in Los Angeles.
• They have won a total of 6 World Series titles.
