Title: Saved From the Storms of Life

1
Saved From the Storms of Life
  • Trusting God to save rather than focused on the
    storms of life. Matthew 1422-31

2
Introduction
  • We want to be like our Savior.
  • We want to pray like He did.
  • We want to have walk by faith like He did.
  • While we want to be more like Him, we still face
giants that stand in our way and cause us to fear
the unknown aheadeven when the answer is clear.

3
Introduction
  • The problem then is being able to face our giants
    through our faith in Jesus.
  • We can take courage and not be afraid.
  • We can by faith in Christ receive the command
    to come.
  • We can also learn from our lack of faith

4
Courage Do Not Be Afraid. v. 27
  • It is all too easy to be discouraged when the
storms of life come our way.
  • How easy for us to be objective and counsel
    others about not being afraid.
  • Yet, how many times do we display anxiety or fear
    when faced with a dilemma.

5
Courage Do Not Be Afraid. v. 27
  • We are told by the Lord from His heavenly
    perspective not to be afraid.
  • The Lord was quite authoritative when He told
    Peter, do not be afraid.
  • He says the same thing of our personal storms in
    life.

6
Command Come. V. 28
  • Easy to hear, hard to practice
  • We know what to do step out into the storm
trusting that our Savior will keep us from
    perishing.
  • We have to be willing to take that step out of
the boats safety into the stormy waves.

7
Command Come. V. 28
  • Even when taking the first steps by faith, we can
still lose sight of Jesus command, and drown in
    the storms of life.
  • Once we take those steps, however, many times we
question or doubt our actions we begin to
    perish.
  • Even then our Savior does what He does best
    saves.

8
Conclusion Counsel Why Did You Doubt? v. 31
  • Like Peter, we need to hear the soft rebuke of
our Lord You of little faith.
  • When all is said and done Jesus saved Peter and
will save us one way or another from the
    trials before us.
