Requirement for ARVPs
  • Member of ASSE for 3 years before taking office
  • Appointed annually by the RVP from among Society
    members in the Region
  • Serve until the end of the session during which
    appointed
  • May be reappointed
  • BUT, shall not serve more than 3 consecutive
    years
  • Deputy RVP should be Professional Member

Deputy ARVP
  • KEEP US STRAIGHT!!!
  • Acts for RVP when necessary and requested
  • Serves as secretary for Region
  • Chairs the Regional Nominations Committee
  • Assists the RVP with evaluation and supervision
  • Helps maintain the flow of communication and
    reports among the region
  • Supervises function of Regional committees and
    their appointed Chairs as requested by the RVP

ARVP - Finance
  • KEEP US STRAIGHT!!!!
  • Prepare a budget for approval by Region
  • Prepare and deliver a Treasurers report at each
    ROC meeting
  • Maintain all Financial records of the Region
  • Supervise the receipt and disbursement of funds
  • Maintain funds in an FDIC-insured depository
    approved by the ROC

  • By May 31, transmit to Society headquarters the
    audited income and expense statement for the
    fiscal year ending March 31, and submit required
    tax documents to the appropriate agencies
  • Prepare the unit accounting records for audit to
    be conducted prior to the first ROC meeting each
    year

  • The vision of ASSE is to be the premier
    organization and resource for those engaged in
    the practice of protecting people and the
    environment, to lead the profession globally.

  • ASSE is a global association providing
    professional development and representation for
    those engaged in the practice of safety, health
    and the environment and those providing services
    to the private and public sectors to protect
    people, property and the environment.

    health curricula criteria and maximize the number
    of accredited degree programs.

    state governmental affairs activities using
    Society staff, lobbyist, and Governmental Affairs
    Manager to coordinate these activities.

    governmental affairs information to members by
    using Professional Safety magazine, electronic,
    and other appropriate media.
  • Objective 2.4 - Heighten member awareness of
