3The books plot is based around a classic kidnap
and spying theme
- When secret agent Michael Lock is kidnapped on a
mission in Nairobi, it is up to his clueless,
reluctant and innocent teenage daughter Darcie
Lock to find her father, and complete his
mission- a mission that could break up the
massive smuggling network of Africa- and save the
people she loves. - This action packed Alex Rider type spy thriller
is an amazing extension to the reluctant teenage
spy genre- a great new addition to Julia
Goldings fantastic collection.
4The setting for the story is Nairobi
- Nairobi which is the capital city of Kenya in
Africa. - Africa is a very hot place.
- Kenya is also a very dangerous country. You are
quite likely to be mugged, or attacked if you
wander around the streets in Nairobi.

5So what did the KS3 Readers Circle think of the
book on a scale of 1 to 10?
6The Readers Circle really liked the book
I think I rate this book 8 out of 10 Because it
is action packed and exciting. The reason it
doesnt get a 10 is because it isnt as good as
Alex Rider and James Bond. David
I thought that theRingmaster was verygood.
Similar to the AlexRider series, I recommend
this to others. I wouldgive this 10/10 Tim
Ringmasters very exciting but the beginning is
a bit slow. Id give it 10 out of 10 Jake

This action packed Alex Rider typespy adventure
is a fantastic book forboth boys and girls.
Suitable for teenagersand younger children.
This book is scarily realistic, and highlights
the true problems of racism andcorruption in
Kenya. The Ringmaster is a superbbook, if a
little short, which mostpeople will enjoy.
Fantastic!9 out of 10. Roxanne
8This book has to be read youdbe silly not to

My first reaction to the book the Ringmaster was
that it was boring, but as soon as I got into
it read it I understood the book thought it
was brilliant. The end was the best part when
she had to save the prince from danger. My mark
out of 10 for this book has to be a 9 out of 10.
This book has to be read, youll be silly not
to! Franklyn

10Where would you rate the book?
RingMaster is about a girl called Darcie who goes
on a mission like a female version of James Bond
whose father goes missing.
There are some very comical characters in this
book there are characters like stingo who tend to
be very full of himself, like the way he flirts
with Darcie
Ringmaster would appeal to both boys and girls
and all ages but would best suite ages from 8
upwards as the print is small and some of the
words would be difficult to understand.
