- Laptop or desktop computer
- Tegrity Pen and cradle (Plug in now, charge 8
min.) - Tegrity 7.1 MSCST Notes Installation CD
- USB drive (needed if the student will use
multiple computers to review notes)

- Windows 2000 / XP
- Windows XP for Tablet PC Ed with SP2
- Processor Pentium III 800Mhz (or AMD
equivalent) - RAM 128 MB
- Hard Disk Space 30 MB
- Office Version PowerPoint 2003 / XP
(recommended) - Browser Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher
- Media Player Windows Media Player 7 or higher
- Screen Resolution 1024 x 768 or higher
- Java Microsoft Virtual Machine / Sun Java 1.3 or
higher - Sun Java will be installed if no JVM is detected
- Sun Java 1.5 is recommended
- Internet Connection 28 Kbps or higher (must
connect to the Internet at least once a week) - Free USB Ports One available port for normal
setup two available ports when using the
configuration that requires a USB storage device - Speakers Required for listening
11Decide before installing
- Students who want to review their notes on
multiple computers must have a USB jump drive of
at least 128MB. (256MB recommended) - All of Tegrity Notes are to be imported on 1 home
computer. If you have more one computer, you
must select 1 for all imports. - All Tegrity Notes students (Nursing) must upgrade
to Tegrity 7.1, before first import. Tegrity will
lock the usage of previous Tegrity versions.

13Notes Installation
- During installation, pen drivers installed
- Tegrity Pen should NOT be connected during
installation. Tegrity software will inform
students when to connect the pen - Tegrity Notes will include the backgrounds of
MSC-ST instructors as they were provided to
Tegrity - Do Not Import if your pen has notes from last
semester.

16Taking Notes starting a new notebook
- As before
- Students should not use the same color notebook
for two different classes! - Students should use their logitech pen to write
only in their notebook... not their friends
notebook - If necessary then in addition to the 3 color
notebook and handouts, students can order more
notebook to use in other courses. Overall,
Tegrity supports 5-6 types of notebooks handouts

- If student starts a new notebook, the check box
on the first page of the notebook Must be checked - ReUsing a Notebook - Recheck the check box on the
first page then use next clear page to start off
your new class.

20Importing Notes
- In Tegrity 7.1 Tegrity Pen has an identification
mechanism. At first import, student will be
required to provide their name and contact info,
in case the pen gets lost. - This will prevent from importing notes to other
computers

22Importing Notes Common Problems
- Make sure the cradle is connected to the USB
port. - Try a different USB port.
- Reboot the computer and try again.
- The battery may be dead. Charge it for a few
minutes and try again. - Software not installed.
