  • Karen Patterson, Biloxi Public Schools
  • Teaching experience 25 years in special
    education
  • Programs include Learning Disabilities,
    Educationally Handicapped, and for the last 9
    years with the Other Health Impaired program.
  • I teach children with severe disabilities and
    most of them are nonverbal. I have one student
    with Rett Syndrome.
  • I also work with parents and other teachers of
    Rett children.

    and multiple choice questions. Students can write
    their own stories as well.

SIGHT WORDS A DEVELOPMENTALREADING PROGRAM
  • A reading program from I Can Educational
    Materials that teaches 220 high frequency words
    and 80 nouns.
  • Each of the ten units contain visual
    discrimination activities, flashcards, sentence
    games, vocabulary sheets, tracking progress
    sheets, and a story.
  • This program also comes with a Supplemental
    Activities Guide and a Step-By-Step Spelling
    Program.
