  young as 6 in Africa is 4 miles carrying a load
  of up to 25 Kgs

• Playing on a Roundabout is fun, not work!
• The water quality is assured from predetermined
  testing
• The Roundabout works on standard windmill
  equipment which is available throughout the
  continent

Sustainability and maintenance

• The pump is owned by the community
• Funds generated from commercial advertisements
  used for maintenance guarantees the
  sustainability of the system.
• After 15 years, the advertising revenue is shared
  with the villagers

• Since winning Development Marketplace award in

• Over 500 installations have been completed

Next Steps

• Prove cross-border replicability of South African

• Successfully install 130 pumps in Mozambique in 2
  phases supported by advertising revenue
• Then scale up into 3 more countries in the next 1
  to 3 years (Angola, Zimbabwe, Malawi)
• Move from donor-based to more commercial model
