13ISIMS Background
- Governor signed HB 367 on April 15, 2003
- Defines ISIMS as a secure, centralized data
system where public school information is stored,
accessed and analyzed. - Requires Agencies and Districts to use ISIMS to
the full extent of its availability. - Provides for ongoing funding by the State for
operation and maintenance of the system. (7
million per year) - The State Board of Education shall ensure that a
state operated Idaho student information
management system which provides real time,
appropriate access to educational data, is
available and used by all Idaho school districts
14J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation will
- Commit 35 Million over five to six years
- Control project supervision, design and
expenditures of funds during the building phase.
Input and direction from ISIMS Stakeholders
Committee - Turn the system management over to the State
Department of Education when system is
substantially complete - Provide funds for on-going system costs,
training, etc., up to a maximum payout of 35
Million - Reserve the right to not proceed or to cease
funding if partner commitments are not meet. - Cease funding if the State and JKAF mutually
agree to terminate project
