- Initial focus is to catalyse high quality
research in ethnic minorities, particularly in
CHD, diabetes, mental health etc - Research collaboration and dissemination network
of 800 clinicians/HCPs many of whom experienced
in research in ethnic minorities - Healthcare professional education meetings from
Tauton to Edinburgh - Encourage translation of research findings into
practice through development of guidance,
consensus statements etc. - Achievements to date
- 2 major books on CHD in South Asians (over 1000
copies distributed) - Consensus documents on dyslipidaemia,
cardiovascular risk, metabolic syndrome - National research bodies advisory input e.g.
Wellcome trust, MRC, NPR, DH - Forthcoming publications from SAHF
