- On the day after the Tsunami stuck in Kerala,
Malayala Manorama announced the setting up of
Tsunami Relief Fund by its page one Editorial - And the people renewed their damaged lives,
finding a will in themselves and a supporter in
Malayala Manorama. Who first sensitized every
reader, then set up a relief fund, and finally
mobilized effective and speedy action. - And the result is Manorama Snehatheeram
(meaning Manoramas shore of love). Where 145
houses and a million hopes have been carefully
reconstructed.

- Construction started on 12th May and completed in
the first week of September - 4 double story houses and 46 single story houses
- Complex local situation
- We took the entire villagers along with us
- Very good support from the district administration

- Construction started on 20th April and completed
in the second week of September - 42 double story houses and 8 single story houses
- The houses allotted to us were just 3 meters away
from the sea - Rough sea during the period of construction
