HTTP Streaming RealAudio

• Copy your encoded files (files with the .ra,
  .ram, .rm or .rpm extension) to your World Wide
  Web server.
• Create a metafile containing a URL to your file
  in the following form http//hostname/path,
  where hostname is the name of your World Wide Web
  server.
• Save as a text using a .ram file extension.

HTTP Streaming RealAudio

• In your HTML document, reference the metafile in
  a hyperlink. For example
• ile.rm"
• When a user clicks on the link, the streaming
  file(s) begin to download.

Specialized Server Software

• Well-suited for high-volume sites serving
  numerous simultaneous streams
• Can detect a users modem speed and stream audio
  accordingly
• To pay or not to pay?
• RealNetworks' RealSystem Server 8.
• FREE SHOUTcast, icecast, SAM

Downloading Audio

• Simply copy your mp3 file to your server
• Create a link to it in your webpage
• User can simply download it by clicking link
