PowerPoint includes an overview and introduction
to the student PowerPoint.

  • This project can be as multi-faceted as you
    choose to make it. It should be adapted to work
    for your students.
  • You may find that there are several Activities
    that would be most useful for your studentsuse
    any or all of them.
  • Students should have already been exposed to
    elements of the Renaissance, such as the time
    period, important people, important events, what
    events led to the Renaissance, etc. (see ppt

    several significant people in history
  • Identify qualities which lead to personal growth
  • Analyze the effect these people still have on our
    lives today

By the time students complete this unit they will
be able to

Explain the atmosphere or environment in society
that allowed da Vinci to develop. Explain the
term Renaissance Manand what it means.Explain
the qualities of observation, curiosity,
questioning, and investigation specific to a
Renaissance Man. Explain why Leonardo da Vincis
abilities as an artistic, scientist, inventor,
engineer, botanist, anatomist, and architect
qualify him as a the ultimate Renaissance
Man. Explain da Vincis experiences and choices
that enabled him to develop into the ultimate
Renaissance Man.

Your students will also be able to..
  • Identify an American (either current or
    former) who fits the same criteria as Leonardo da
    Vinci and thus qualifies as an American
    Renaissance Man.
  • As your students compare/contrast these two
    individuals, be sure they apply the same criteria
    to both people.
  • Note Your students may find a woman who
    qualifies as well.

    understanding become clearly evident.
