Brokered by the U.S. Department of Labor,
Manpower and the Mississippi Public Workforce
System, the Working Your Way Back Home
Initiative will help ensure that Mississippians
affected by the hurricane are able to find
employment in their host communities and to
transition home with appropriate relocation
resources and other needed assistance.

Working Your Way Back Home
  • Identify 1,000 MS. evacuees who want to return
    home for employment
  • Place 500 evacuees in jobs/training
  • Provide relocation other assistance to ease
    transition
  • Develop lasting partnership between
    Manpower/MDES
  • Create model for other hurricane-impacted
    states.

  • evacuees
  • 2. WIN Job Center/Manpower cross-refer displaced
    evacuees as appropriate
  • 3. Place evacuees into jobs/training, provide
  • relocations and other services as needed

    Candidate Qualifications for Referral to Manpower
    Checklist
  • 2. Complete Pre-Registration Form
  • 3. Fax Pre-Registration to Manpower give copy
    to applicant
  • 4. Track referrals and follow-up as needed
