27
TRADITIONALLY
  • ACADEMICS HAVE BEEN TAUGHT TO INVOLVE TWO
    INTELLIGENCES
  • LINGUISTIC
  • LOGICAL/MATHEMATICAL

28
IQ TESTS MEASURE
  • ABILITY WITH WORDS
  • ABILITY WITH NUMBERS
  • SO . . . . .

29
  • IQ TESTS ARE A GOOD PREDICTOR OF SUCCESS AT
    SCHOOL BECAUSE
  • WE LECTURE (LINQUISTIC)
  • PRESENT MATERIAL LOGICALLY (LOGICAL/MATHEMATICAL)

30
  • SINCE TEACHERS ARE USUALLY PEOPLE WHO DID WELL IN
    SCHOOL
  • THESE TWO INTELLIGENCES ARE STRESSED IN THE
    ACADEMIC WORLD

31
  • WHEN YOU USE ALL EIGHT OF YOUR INTELLIGENCES, YOU
WILL BEGIN TO USE YOUR FULL BRAIN POWER!!!

32
  • SO THINK OF OTHER WAYS TO PRESENT MATERIAL TO
HELP STUDENTS THAT HAVE DIFFERENT INTELLIGENCES!!!

33
ASSIGNMENT
  • 1.Look into the class that you teach and identify
2 students in each of the 8 categories. What
types of things should you do in your next
teaching assignments to incorporate each of their
    learning styles?
  • 2. Now for each of these 8 categories create an
activity to match your lesson that will meet the
needs of the two students of that learning style.
  • State what your objective is then explain which
intelligence you are trying to meet and then
explain each activity and how it meets both the
    objective and the intelligence.
