Next Steps

• Review of the GIVS costing model has highlighted
  a number of areas for improvements and updates
• These need to be tackled
• Reconcile differences in the funding projections
• Establish a process for more regular and seamless
  updates
• Particularly given the 2010 mid-point in the GIVS

Take Home Message

• Important needs remain between now and 2015
• Despite positive funding context for immunization
  important funding gaps remain - primarily for
  routine immunization
• Need for lower middle income countries largely
  unmet "the new poor's"
• The updated financing requirements and gaps to
  reach GIVS goals allows for all partners to
  increase joint efforts to advocate and mobilize
  resources for immunization
• And to help return this critical health
  intervention to the centre stage of international
  health debate
• All the more necessary given the pending impact
  of the financial crisis
