OPEN ENROLLMENT AT A GLANCE
  • Dates to Remember
  • Open Enrollment is from Monday, October 29
    through 500 pm Friday, November 9
  • Open Enrollment packets will be sent to your
    homes on or around October 25 for delivery no
    later than October 27
  • Benefits and Fitness Fair Tuesday, October 30
    from 1100 am to 400 pm (flu shots available
    free of charge bring university ID Card)
  • Systems HR Connection is New and Improved
  • New look and better functionality
  • Once an employee logs in using their PIN, change
    to a PASSWORD protected system

HIGHLIGHTS AND CHANGES
  • Medical Plans
  • Majority of employees will see no change in
    monthly contributions for medical or prescription
    drug (if they stay in their current plan and
    current level of coverage)
  • Increase in of therapeutic sessions from 20 to
    60 for PPO Plans
  • No FSA Claims Extension for 2007
  • EBDS only Health Care Flexible Spending Account
    (HCFSA) administrator
  • No longer using CBSA as the administrator for
    HCFSA for those in HealthAmerica
  • Will have to submit paper reimbursement request
    for medical.
  • Will have auto-submit for prescription drug.

  • An employees selection for either Dental

  • Dental PPO plans adding Smile for Health
    Program
  • No change to Davis Vision rates and slight
    decrease in rates for
  • some VBA options
  • Some VBA providers no longer require paper
    claim form in advance

  • New maximum for employee coverage from 500,000
    to 1,000,000 (Basic and Supplemental Combined)
  • New Evidence of Insurability (EOI) level for
    employee supplemental coverage from 200,000 to
    500,000
  • Different Spouse/Domestic Partner (S/DP)
    Dependent Child(ren) rules

  • Opt out does not include supplemental coverage
  • Basic Coverage (equals 1 x salary) university
    paid
  • Supplemental (equals 2 x to 4 x salary)
    employee paid
  • Going from Basic Coverage to Supplemental
    Coverage
  • if election is Basic to 1 x salary and less than
    500,000, no EOI
  • If election is Basic to 2, 3 or 4 x salary and
    less than 500,000 EOI 1 question
  • A no response to 1 question provides EOI
    approval
  • A yes response to 1 question requires second
    level EOI 5 questions
  • if election is greater than 500,000 then EOI 5
    questions
  • Going from Supplemental Coverage to a Higher
    Level of Supplemental Coverage

    can be grandfathered)

    rates)
  • Increased Maximum from 100,000 to 250,000
  • EOI Level increased from gt 30,000 to 50,000
