  • The children will make predictions about the book
    from the cover.
  • We will read the book Little Polar Bear by Hans
    de Beer.
  • After the story the children will name the
    animals the polar bear met and predict if they
    could survive in the Arctic.
  • The children will observe a map to discover how
    far Lars traveled from the Arctic to the Tropics.

  • Use a second ziploc bag to place around outside
    of ziploc bag with Crisco in it.

  • The students will measure the temperature of
    the water with a thermometer.

    glove and immerse in icy water.
