- An effective form of leadership that stimulates
vision and moves people forward. - Has three parts
- Clarifying the present
- Focusing on the future
- Reaching goals
5To Clarify the present
- People get in touch with themselves
- Get in touch with their values
- Focus on finding the driving passion that keeps
people moving forward
6Passion drives us forward Vision pulls us forward
7- Vision is a clear picture of something that we
want to exist in the future. - A target we intend to reach.
- Vision encourages people to think beyond what is
and to visualize what will be - Visions inspire
- Visionary leaders attract followers because they
are able to capture the imagination and excite
people to anticipate dreams that are possible to
achieve.
8- Big visions bring big commitments
- Visions can involve millions
- Visions can be very personal
- Vision statements are short, concise, and easily
remembered. - Visions dont fluctuate from day to day, but they
do evolve.
9- Mission statements are more declarations of
action - Mission statements give the actions well use or
take to accomplish the vision - The first four words are all action words,
describing something to be done.

- Look inside
- Think about your gifts, values and passion
- Get information a vision is about the future,
but it comes from the present
12God-ordained vision will be in line with what God
is up to in the world If you dont know whats
happening in the world at large or in the smaller
world where you live every day, you arent likely
to get a clear vision
13Learn from visionary people meet with someone
to talk about vision Dont limit your learning to

15- The best coaches are those who can encourage and
energize - What are some reasons a vision might die?
- The vision may not come from God
- He communicates his vision to those who have
persisted in knowing Him intimately - His vision is a sacred part of unfolding His
eternal plan - Your motives for seeking a vision are crucial
16- There may be no deep commitment to the vision
- Its much easier to create a visoin than it is to
keep it alive. - There may be no clear underlying values
- There may be no encouragement
- Visions fade when theyre held by only one person
who has little or no encouragement, support, or
people who come alongside to help and pray.
17- There may be no progress
- A coachs role is to be a hope-giver and
encourager when fulfilling a vision seems to
progress slowly or not at all. - There may be no fresh reminders of the need
- There will be obstacles
- Opposition from the start
- Some comes from local leaders who feel threatened
by the vision - Some comes in the form of fatigue and
disagreements between the people
18- Coaches alert people to the obstacles that will
pop up. - Coaches help people get over these obstacles
- Coaches guide as the PCBs take steps to turn
their visions into reality

20When we set visions for others, we show our
confidence in their abilities and potential. Many
people long for someone who believes in them and
is convinced that they have potential.
