Attitudes Towards the Hunting Act

  • Just over one third of UK adults (34) think
the Hunting Act is working. This decreases with
age, with only one in five (20) adults aged 65
years saying the Act is working compared to 51
amongst 18-24 year olds. Those living in Wales
and South West are most likely to think the Act
is working (39) whilst those in North England
are least likely to (28). There is very little
difference in attitude by gender- 35 male and
    33 female (saying yes).

Q1 As you may be aware the Hunting Act came into
force in England and Wales in February this year.
The main purpose of the Act was to ban the
hunting of wild mammals (such as foxes) using
dogs. From what you know do you think the Hunting
Act is working? i.e. Is preventing hunting with
dogs.
