    economy in the world.
  • Japan is responsible for some of the most
    impressive technological companies which include
    computer, car, and entertainment companies.
  • Japans future in technology seems to continue to
    be bright, as they possess 410,000 of the worlds

    in the world. They export goods worth around 380
    billion dollars while importing good worth around
    290 billion.
  • While Japan is strong in exporting in areas such
    as technology and automobiles, it has very few
    natural resources which they must import.
  • Japan must import virtually all of its oil,
    forest products, many minerals, and about 50 of
    its agriculture.

    expectancy exceeding that of the United States at

  • Japan is facing a problem of too many people with

    population while they rank 61st in total land
    area.

    provided by technology.

Goal 5 To Find Alternate Sources of Energy So
As to Reduce Our Dependence on Oil

  • Japan has reduced dependence on petroleum as a
    source of energy from more than 75 in 1973 to
    about 57 at present.
  • At present, other important energy sources are
    coal, liquefied natural gas, nuclear power, and
    hydropower.
  • Japan is currently doing research on how to
    implement renewable energy resources into their
    energy supply such as solar, wind, and wave
    power.
