Failover Mode
  • Allows clinical team to document even when
    central system (CDR) is not available
  • What to expect in Failover
  • Users will be notified that connection is lost
    when data from the CDR is requested.
  • Application appearance changes in failover mode
  • Data and functionality is limited
  • When CDR is back up users must log out and back
    in again

In Normal mode. Connection is lost to the CDR.
User is not notified until an action forces the
application to look for information from the CDR.
User clicks S/O

Lost connection is realized. Click Retry.

  • If its a scheduled appointment, auto-cite

  • If its a walk-in created after failover,
    Problems and Fam Hx, not available.
  • No access to Template Management (Action bar and

  • Limited search fields.

  • Lists can be changed during a failover session
    but will only be available until connection is
    restored. Changes made during failover do not
    write back to the CDR as part of recovery.

  • Only encounters completed during failover mode
    are available for co-signing.

  • Read only from CHCS.

  • Only data available from the LCD (scheduled

    documented. (Why? That is the only field in CHCS!)

  • Labs read from CHCS.
  • Time period search is limited.

  • OTC meds cannot be documented. (Why? There is no
    corresponding field in CHCS!)

    unavailable.

  • Only those vaccines given during failover mode
    will display on the Vaccine History tab.

  • Data read from LCD.
  • For scheduled appts., up to last four previous
    encounters displayed.
  • These four encounters can be amended or appended
    if the user is logged in to the same clinic in
    which the encounters were created.
