    .08 in fatal crashes - higher than operators of
    any other type of motor vehicle (2005)
  • 34 of all motorcyclists involved in fatal
    crashes were speeding, higher than drivers of
    passenger cars (26), light-trucks (25), or
    large-trucks (2) (2005)
  • Helmets are estimated to be 37 effective in
    preventing fatal injuries to motorcyclists
