3Moving Through the Map Layers
Personal Layer
Plotted Location Layer
Single-Click on a layer name to view and bring
the layer in focus. Mark-ups will be made on
the layer that is in focus.
COG layer
4Adding Layers to the Map
Highlight and Right-Click on a Layer Name
- Personal and public layers can be added to the
map.
5Tips for Using Map Layers
Single-Click the check box to hide markups on
selected layer
Keep in mind that when you clear the check box
next to the map layer or sub-layer, you hide
their associated symbols and markings.
6Using the Snap To Command
The Snap to command can be used to quickly focus
on the area where all markups for a layer and any
associated sub-layers exist.

To add the symbol, click once on the symbol and
drag it onto the map

14Creating Links from Map Markups
- You can create a link from a drag/drop markup
object on a layer to a locally stored file.
15Deleting and Hiding Lines, Shapes, Text Boxes,
and Symbols
When you drag and drop symbols from the palette
and place them on the map, you can delete them
using the right-click method.
16Cutting and Pasting Shapes
17Tip for Plotting Areas on the Map
It helps to have State and postal code included
to have a more accurate plot on the map,
especially if you are unsure about the street
address.
