What is a Works Cited Page?
  • A works cited page identifies the sources you
cited within the text of your research paper.
  • If only one source is cited, refer to it as a
    work cited page.
  •

4
Why Use a Works Cited Page?
  • By citing the works used within the text of your
paper, your reader is able to consult the
original document for further information, if so
    desired.
  • Also, it presents documentation for your
citations, which provides credibility for your
    paper.
  •

5
Where is it Located?
  • The works cited page immediately follows the text
    of your research paper.
  • It may be one page or multiple pages.
  •

6
Formatting Requirements
  • Header and Page Number
  • Your last name and page number are located at the
top right hand corner of your page, 1/2 an inch
from the top of the page. The page number should
be a continuation of your text.
  • Title
  • Your works cited page should be titled Works
Cited. Do not use quotation marks around your
title. Your title should be one inch from the top
    of the page, centered.
  • Margins
  • Use one-inch margins all the way around your
works cited page, just like the text of your
    paper.
  • Order of Information
  • Alphabetize by first letter of each entry.
