The ideal chair

• A swivel chair with a five point base on castors.
  For easy access to any material around you.
• No armrests or low armrests that will fit under
  the table.
• Adjustable backrest so that the posture is
  correct.

• The seat should be made of fabric, broad, have
  firm packing and be waterfall shaped. This is to
  reduce pressure to the thighs.
• Adjustable height so that you are at the right
  height for the desk.

The Government

• The Government has put OHS laws in place for
  employers and employees to follow.
• There are currently two acts in place in NSW,
  Occupation Health and Safety Act (1983) and the
  Health and safety Amendment Act (1997).

• Reinforce information and instructions on
  workplace hazards to employee.
• Provide and maintain safe systems of work.
• Provide safe working environment and adequate
  welfare facilities.
• Keep up to date with the new laws being in
  forced.
• Have a grievance procedure in place.

• Be aware of and follow the rules in place.
• Be aware of the procedures in case of an
  accident.
• Report accident and hazards immediately.
