a program?

- Place
- Time
- Curriculum
- Baptist Men On Mission is an organization defined
and driven by - Purposecommitment/accountability
The Basics
25What about Mens Ministry?
- Baptist Men On Mission is a key part of any
complete Mens Ministry, which should include
ministry to men and ministry by menthe two equal
feet any mens ministry needs to be effective.
- Ministry to menStand firm.
- Answer the invitation to become a follower of
Christ. - Build and strengthen your faith.
- Be a disciple.
- Go deep in Christ.
- Ministry by menStep forward.
- Answer the call to join in Gods mission.
- Share your faith.
- Make disciples.
- Go into all the world.
The Basics
26What about Mens Ministry?
- An effective mens ministry meets men on their
turf, draws them in, and prepares them to go and
live out their faith. The process can be summed
up as
- Evangelizewinning men to Christ and helping
them realize their need for Him - Establishinward spiritual growth as men become
disciples of Christ - Equiptraining to help men apply their spiritual
growth to their lives and in Gods mission - Extendsending discipled men to the mission
field and helping them find their place in
fulfilling the Great Commission
The Basics
27What about Mens Ministry?
- How can it help me evangelize men?
- Baptist Men On Mission helps train men to think
like missionaries, and take intentional steps to
reach people through personal relationships and
personalized plansnot packaged or canned
methods. - Adult On-Mission Strategies help men learn to
reach specific men while learning how to be more
effective in outreachon mission trips, in their
church, in their communities and associations.
28What about Mens Ministry?
- How can it help me establish men in following
Christ? - It doesnt, not much. Thats why the partnership
between Mens Ministry and Mens Mission
Education is so important. - But it can help underscore the importance of
personally following Christ day by day as men
learn that their job is to follow while He makes
them fishers of men.
29What about Mens Ministry?
- How can it help me equip men for ministry and
mission outreach? - Baptist Men On Mission helps men discover their
fit for participating in Gods missionthe way
God made them, not forcing them to become like
someone else. - Using their own interests, talents, and skills,
men can learn how to apply mission skills to
people in their sphere of influence, to share the
gospel, and to participate in ministry in more
natural, effective ways.
30What about Mens Ministry?
- How can it help me extend men on mission?
- Baptist Men On Mission trains and encourages men
to join God in the mission fields around them,
starting with their own lives and the lives of
their families all the way out to the whole
world, just as Jesus commanded in Acts 18. - Adult On-Mission Strategies turn mission study
into mission action by helping men reach a
particular people group in a given mission field
while learning how to be effective lay
missionaries.
31What about WMU?
- Baptist Men On Mission is a key partner to the
Womans Missionary Union in mission educating
Christians of both genders. - Why gender specific?
- When sharing information about missions to seek
prayer or financial support for missions, it
really doesnt matter if you combine both genders
or notbut when you move beyond information to
strive for personal mission commitment and
accountability, meeting within smaller groups
with people like ourselves is vitally important.
Men open up to other men. Women open up to other
women.

58Healthy Growth
BECOMING BAPTIST MEN ON MISSION
59What is growth?
- Is it growing deeper in Christ?
- Is it having a growing number of Baptist Men On
Mission in your group? - Is it helping other churches start Baptist Men On
Mission groups to help them train a
lay-missionary force to impact their communities
and the world? - Which is right?
- They all are. Healthy growth occurs in all three
areas.
Healthy Growth
60How do we grow deeper?

64So what?
65Parting thoughts ...
- Every Christian is uniquely created by God to
take part in His mission. - Baptist Men On Mission is about commitment and
accountability, not programs, buildings,
curriculum, or projects. - Every church needs a complete mens ministry,
including ministry to men and ministry by men. - Every church needs a balanced mission education
plan, involving both men and women, boys and
girls, that allows them to not just learn about
but be trained to do missions. - Meetings should meet your specific needs to
maintain commitment, not to lock you into a place
or time. - Baptist Men On Mission dont need a huge network
of leaders, just willing men to come alongside
other men. - Healthy growth involves going deeper, getting
bigger, and branching out.
