What is a Character?

• Characters are the people in stories, other types
  of literature, movies and plays.
• Characters serve as an important tool in helping
  the author communicate the meaning of the story,
  even though most stories and poems can be
  interpreted in more than one way.

• The word trait is used to describe a characters
  nature
• For example, one character might show the trait
  of being sneaky, while another one might show the
  trait of blaming someone else.
