4Challenge Classes
- If you are in Challenge then you can remain in
the Challenge class as long as your semester
grade is a C- or better. - Notification of Challenge classes will be sent
out in Spring and also in the Summer for those
who qualify. - More information on pages 16-17 of the Course

(Must already be enrolled to participate) - French, Spanish and German (1B) if you are
currently taking foreign language 1A, you will

6Elective Tips
- Elective classes are either full year or
semester. - You can NOT take Band, Orchestra or Choir unless
you are enrolled in it now (or have permission
from the teacher).
7Electives and High School?
- Computer Connections If you take this course
and receive a C- or higher, you can waive the ½
Credit in Business or Tech in High School. You
can also take a Computer Proficiency test to
waive the ½ Credit. - Foreign Language This is a continuation (more
vocabulary, verbs, etc) of the 7th grade class.
Student who complete the 2nd year are expected to
go to Level 2 in High School (per teacher
recommendation). - Art Acceleration Student have the opportunity
to earn a waiver of Art Fundaments (HS Course).
This waiver will be awarded in January of the
students 8th grade year are a result of the
successful completion of both a paper and pencil
test and a portfolio evaluation.
8Electives and High School?
- FACS Life Skills I and II
- Can only take Life Skills II if took FACS in 7th
Grade with a passing grade - If havent taken FACS in 7th grade, can enroll in
Life Skills I for 8th grade - Benefit of enrolling and passing Life Skills II
Ability to move on to Foods and Nutrition II in
high school

- Number the Exploratory classes 1-6
- Complete Course Selection Form, Register Online,
print Request Summary and return to Guidance

- Use your completed Course Selection Form to guide
your elective registration - Log into your childs Infinite Campus account
- Contact the Help Desk at 636-458-7248 if you have
problems with the account or password - Only register for 8th grade classes
- Print the Request Summary at the end of your
registration and return to the Guidance Office
