- Life in Rexburg couldnt be better! On a daily
basis we look around and see progress happening
in our community. As one of the fastest growing
cities in the State of Idaho, it is exciting to
see the vitality of Rexburg as a growing
community in rural America! - In his State of the City address, Rexburg Mayor
Shawn Larsen addressed the successes of 2007
highlighting for example, the 154 single homes
added within the city, along with the
infra-structure improvements made in
neighborhoods and the 1,041 operating businesses
that are a part of the trade area of Rexburg - Larsen also looked to the future outlining the
top six priorities for the City of Rexburg in the
upcoming year, using the theme Soaring to New
Heights.
3A Closer Look at the Activity
- Census Bureau confirmed the growth in Rexburg
from Census 2000 to July 1, 2008 was 60 - see

- We think not, and heres why

56.8!!! - Construction Permit Valuation
- 00 10 Million Much of the building permit
- 05 57 Million value obtained from 07 to
- 06 101 Million 08 are construction projects
- 07 159 Million at BYU-I with an estimate/
- Jan. 07 2 Million projection of 300-500
workers - Jan. 08 5 Million involved in those projects
for - the next 2-3 years

fastest-growing economy, homebuilding hasnt
crashed as it has across much of the USA, and a
two-decade run of prosperity continues. - Idaho shows a boom that shows little sign of
fading - Idahos population grew 13.3 from 2000 to 2006
to 1,466,465. Thats twice the national growth
rate - There is an average of about 30,000 new residents

6National Real Estate Market Crisis
- The national news has described housing trends in
many communities across the Country. There is a
financing crisis in others areas of the Nation
but NOT in Rexburg. - 90-100 loan-to-value financing is available for

- Wow! From January 1, 2000 to July 31, 2007 our
average sales price increased by 185. During
that same period of time the number of units sold
increased by 235!!! - Year to date 2008 has seen a drop in units sold
by 35 - however, at the same time the average
sales price has continued to grow by another 2
over December 31, 2007 numbers

chains to Rexburg - This is a slow process which will take place over
