Why we choose a location outside Boston/Cambridge
  • Timing
  • Mid-October is usual peak of autumn
    leaf-peeping season
  • History of Conference
  • Attendees accustomed to traveling incremental
extra distance to quieter, prettier settings
  • Example US settings (Long Beach, Princeton,
Keystone) have all been 1-hour drive from major
    airports
  • Economy
  • Room rate slightly lower, facility and catering
rates significantly lower outside metro Boston
    area
  • Leisure Activities/Spouse Program
  • Sea kayaking
  • Short cruises (scenic, fishing, whale-watching)
  • Shops and galleries in Ogunquit Village
  • Country club spa
