Objectives

• Analyze the emerging web service technologies
  that support web service composition
• Identify web service composition technologies
• Propose a framework for web service composition
  (Figure 1)

• Comparatively study different web service
  composition approaches
• Investigate the domain characteristics and
  composition requirements in the area of
  enterprise integration
• Take a business process oriented approach to web
  service composition which is suitable for
  enterprise integration
• Experiment a prototyping approach to the proof of
  key concepts

Introduction

• Web service composition refers to the process of
  combining several web services to provide a
  value-added service
• Many different approaches have been taken to
  develop composite web services, such as business
  process versus business collaboration service
  composition, static versus dynamic service
  composition, procedural versus declarative
  service composition
• The business process oriented service composition
  is a popular and practical approach which
  supports a lot of business process patterns

Expected Results

• An analysis report about comparative study of web
  service composition approaches
• A prototype to compose web services which are
  derived from the business process modeling
