• Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston on January
  19th, 1809.
• Both his parents were actors but died when Edgar
  was a young boy.

  Virginia where he did well in school and began
  to make a name for himself.

  fathers home.

  first book Tamerlane and Other Poems

  lived in Richmond, Virginia. He attended West
  Point but soon found out that being in the
  service wasnt for for him.

  magazines in his life but The Broadway Journal
  was by far the best.

  honored, and famous was a poem he called The
  Raven.
• The Raven was a tale about a man who is pestered
  by the ghost of his lost love and a Raven.
• The most famous thing about the poem was the way
  it was it was written.

• Edgar Allan Poe married and became the editor at
  a prestigious magazine. He lived in a big house
  and lived his life for those years well.
• But all his success was short lived because soon
  Edgar Allan Poes life began to fall apart.
• His wife whom he married before he had his
  success died of a rare illness.
• Soon Edgar felt like he had nobody in his life
  for whom he cared for.
• He moved from his big house to a small cottage in
  Fordham, Virginia and he lived here for three
  years before his death.

• Edgar Allan Poe soon went missing from his
  cottage after a some lectures he had given in
  Virginia and was found weeks later in Baltimore.
• When they found Edgar, he was unconscious and
  barely breathing.
• He was taken to a hospital where he slipped in
  and out of consciousness, and seemed to be going
  mad.
• Edgar Allan Poe died on October 7th, 1849 after
  saying a short prayer for himself

  but Poe himself never used opium.

  blamed on him and he was accused of not knowing
  how to spell his own name.
