RSS Feed
  • RSS is a format used for syndicating news and

  • It is often discussed in technical terms.
  • What does an RSS feed look like?
  • That depends on which version of RSS youre
talking about. Heres a sample of RSS 0.9

How does RSS Help me know about Updates?
  • A number of web sites are adding an RSS feed to
    their sites
  • When you see the button or link youve found the
    feed.
  • An RSS feed is the websites way of altering
subscribers that the web site has been updated.

How do I use RSS?
  • Need to subscribe (no worries its free).
  • Must have a tool than can read the feed.
  • These tools are referred to as News Aggregators,
RSS Readers or News Readers.(also free)
  • A good list to find them can be found at
    LockerGnomes RSS Resource
  • NewsGator is also a popular resource

8
How do I subscribe to an RSS Feed?
  • First you need an aggregator
  • Then the single thing needed URL for the sites
    RSS feed
  • Click the RSS or XML button and copy the web site
address that appears (dont mind the code it
    wont mind you).
  • It might look like this http//www.sitename.com/i
