Central Davie AcademyIntervention Program

• Designed to be an intervention for students
  displaying repeated disruptive behaviors at their
  home school (15-45-365 day placement).
• Students entering Davie County Schools from
  another alternative program come to this program
  for a 15 day assessment.
• Students accepted into this program through the
  district referral committee come to the
  alternative program for a 45 day intervention and
  assessment.
• This program also serves students that have been
  administratively placed on a long-term suspension
  (45-365 day placement).
• Curriculum NovaNET and traditional instruction
  for both middle and high school programs.
• Operation times to be determined.

Long-term Suspended Students(To be determined by
the Davie County Superintendent)

• Students can be administratively placed at
  Central Davie Academy depending on the severity
  of the offense.
• Students could attend extended day to recover
  credits lost.
• Students could recover credits at home using
  NovaNET or Virtual High School options.

Central Davie AcademyOut of School Suspension
Program

• Designed to serve students in an academic setting
  as an alternative to out of school suspension.
• Participation allows students to be counted in
  attendance at school.
• Curriculum NovaNET.
• Structured environment.
• Completion of a behavioral assessment and
  selection of a home school mentor.
• Notification of mentor selection will be sent to
  home school.

Central Davie AcademyOSS Program Procedures

• Administration checks to make sure space is
  available and completes student information
  sheet.
• Administration can reduce OSS time as an
  incentive for student to attend program (ex.
  Reduce 10 days OSS to 7 days OSS)
• Student agrees to attend OSS program.
• Parents agrees to transport student to program.

Central Davie Academy OSS Procedures (Continued)

• Teachers provide assignments by giving the NCSCOS
  objective number for NovaNET assignments.
• Student assignments can be e-mailed, faxed, or
  delivered and will be returned through e-mail or
  courier.
• Central Davie Academy e-mails contact person at
  home school to verify attendance.
• If the student behaves inappropriately, he/she
  may be sent home. If the student is unable to
  successfully complete their suspension in the OSS
  program, the suspension can be reinstated and the
  home school will be notified.
• Hours of program to be determined.

Central Davie AcademyExtended Day Program

• Credit Recovery program.
• 5th and 6th Block, where students come to make up
  credits they have failed.
• All high school grade levels are eligible for
  extended day however, priority will be given to
  Juniors and Seniors if spaces become limited.
• Students taking EOC courses must take state
  mandated tests. (2006-2007, these students must
  pass the test in order to get the credit).
• Operation times to be determined.
