One of Dubuque's earliest entrepreneurs, Mathias
Ham built his estate predominately through his
lead mining interests. Ham's stately country
villa stands today as living reflection of its
wealthy builder.

- The house had 23 rooms
- the carpeting was taken out in the summer
- the carpet was cut in to 2 foot wide strips

- they had 2 maids from Ireland
- they had boarders in the summer
- all of the girls shared a bedroom
- sold to the city of Dubuque for 10,000 in 1911

languages In 1966 the press presently at the TH
was installed and also was a prototype also cost
