Title: ACM is an international scientific and educational organization dedicated to advancing the arts, sci

1
  • ACM is an international scientific and
    educational organization dedicated to advancing
the arts, sciences, and applications of
    information technology.
  • With a world-wide membership, ACM is a leading
resource for computing professionals and students
working in the various fields of Information
    Technology.

ACM maintains a server for its members so they
can have access to a system other than that
provided by the Computer Science Department. This
gives students more space and freedom.
2
Every year, ACM sends UCR students to the
Intercollegiate Programming Competition, ICPC. In
November 2005, a UCR team won 17th place in the
Southern California Region. Students meet
regularly during the year to practice for the
competition.
Several students are practicing for the
programming competition.
This year, ACM is initiating a program to involve
students from every year in software-related
projects. Project Project will be run by
students who wish to see their ideas for software
projects come to life. This gives every
engineering student an opportunity to get
involved in a project of their own choosing and
interests. Learn more about ACM at
