Always roll material face out. Never roll
material face in. Rolling material face in will
shrink the face of the material. When the
material is unrolled it will have a tendency to
grow, causing material to buckle after
installation.
Material should always be rolled face out on a
core for transporting and storage. If a core is
not available, be sure the roll is tightly coiled
and taped. To avoid creases, make sure the roll
does not get bent during handling and
transportation.

The structure includes a glass scrim layer within
the product. Though vinyl-backed, it is not an
Interflex structure and must be cut fit, and
installed differently than either Interflex or
felt-backed products. Glass-Backed flooring is
designed to be installed by the Modified Loose
Lay Installation System using Glass-Tac Acrylic
Double-Face Tape.
Place a piece of scrap material under the saw
when cutting the bottom of the door jams. This
will allow the material to slide under the trim
and will not pin the material.

Make sure tape does not overlap
Use tape under all seams and other heavy moveable
appliances. Use trim moulding at doorway that
allows movement of the flooring and does not pin
the flooring to the subfloor. Place an X under
the appliances. Be sure not to overlap the tape
at the X.

Glass-Backed materials must fit approximately
3/16 to ¼ away from all vertical surfaces such
as walls, cabinets, pipes, etc. This leaves
room for expansion to prevent buckling.
The Glass-Backed flooring can be fit using a
variety of methods including freehand knifing,
straight scribing or pattern scribing. The S-66
wall trimmer can be used for straight walls.

Tube material back and place a piece of scrap
under both pieces of material before cutting the
seam. This will compensate for the thickness of
the overlap while protecting the substrate.
Seams should always be double-cut, or trace cut
using a straight edge. Cut seams net. Do not
cut the seams snug or full as it can result in
buckles. It is important that the seam edge be
cut in a straight line along its entire length
and that the knife be held completely vertical to
put a clean 90 degree edge on the product. Cut
through both pieces of material at the same time.

Apply a small amount of S-585 Seam Cleaner to the
clean, white felt pad.
Using moderate pressure, rub the seam evenly
using a series of back-and-forth passes for each
section. Hold the pad so a strip approximately
¾ wide, centered over the seam, is treated.
Apply additional S-585 to the pad as needed,
turning the pad when necessary. Treat the entire
seam.

Remove most of the S-585 haze with a clean white
cloth. Allow remaining residue to dry at least
five minutes until a white haze appears. After
S-585 is completely dry, use a new dry, clean,
white cloth to remove all traces of seam cleaner.
When using the S-595 High Gloss or the S-564 Low
Gloss Seam Coating Kits, be sure to mix
completely and follow the instructions provided.

Carefully cut 1/32" from the tip of the
applicator bottle.
Using the straight edge as a guide apply a 1/8"
wide bead of seam coating. Tilt the applicator
to an angle of approximately 30 degrees while
applying the coating. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSERT
NOZZLE INTO THE SEAM. Coating should be centered
on top of the seam. The S-595 S-564 will cure
within 2 to 3 hours.
