Teacher Guide
Overview- In this activity the students will be
using the internet and interactive internet
software to learn about concepts associated with
water. Through this activity the students will be
able to connect water to their everyday life,
learn about water purification, the water cycle,
the chemical and physical properties of water, pH
and other concepts associated with water. The
activity has been designed as an introductory
tool to get students thinking about how water is
an essential component to many of the concepts
they will learn about in biology. It has also
been designed to create a collaborative
environment between students and students as well
as between the teacher and the students. Oklahoma
Pass Objectives- Process Standard 1 and 6,
Content Standard 1,4 and 5. National Science
Education Standards- Standard A, B, D and
E. Grade Level- High school biology Gis Skill
Level- None Other Skills Involved- Basis
computer skills Time Requirements- One 45 minute
period

Materials- Each student will need a computer with
internet access.
Lesson Preparation- Each student will need a copy
of the activity sheet. The activity sheet can
also be uploaded to a website allowing the
students to click on the hyperlinks instead of
typing each hyperlink out to gain access to the
website.
