What is Wheels to Work?

• A moped loan scheme for people aged between 16
  -25
• To enable access to-
• Employment
• Vocational training courses
• Interviews

Who can use it?

• To be eligible for the scheme users must-
• Live in East Hampshire
• Have no access to suitable public transport
• Have no access to private transport
• Be referred by an agency, employer or, where this
  is not possible, have referred themselves.

History of scheme

• The scheme is a Hampshire County Council
  Initiative, operated by Community First New
  Forest
• Has been operating successfully in New Forest and
  Test Valley.
• Now being rolled out across Winchester and East
  Hampshire flexible scheme ideal for rural areas
• EHDC funding scheme from Developer Contributions.

Provision for East Hants

• 12 mopeds to cover the district
• 50cc mopeds which are insured, taxed and MOT.
• Mopeds can be loaned for 3-12 months
• 12 weekly charge
• Helmet, gloves, hi-viz jacket
• Compulsory Basic Training

• Target areas-
• Areas of deprivation
• High numbers of young people
• Very rural areas.
• To help improve employment prospects for young
  people in East Hampshire
