  as the commander of the Ghost Division during the
  1940 invasion of France

• It was a lengthy confrontation during the Western
  Desert Campaign
• After the initial attack the confrontation lasted
  240 days
• We needed to keep control of Tobruk because it
  had a port
• It was a decisive allied victory

• El Alamien was a port town surrounded by water or
  canals. The Allies needed the control of El
  Alamien to get supplies.
• During this battle the Sherman Tank were used by
  the Allies against the German Panzer Tanks.
• The Allies were better armed than the Germans.
