  • composed of discrete, individual fibers
  • i.e. textiles are composed of predominantly
    continuous fibers or filaments
  • made from a suspension in water
  • not an organic solvent, such as toluene
  • formed on a screen or sieve
  • utilizes mechanism of filtration
