• Immaturity the decision to throw the party and
  expand the guest list
• Friends all have problems of their own
• Foreshadows the problems to come later at party
• Doesnt invite Norton causes further trouble
  because he is upset
• Lorraine not assertive (strong) enough to stop
  John (capable of poor decisions)
• The Climax Mr. P returning from the hospital to
  discover the mess

The Aftermath

• Police curious as to what kind of parents J and
  L have
• Implies they were raised badly
• Lorraine confesses to her mother everything, but
  does not seek her forgiveness
• Knows she needs her forgiveness from the Pigman

Parent Reactions

• Both dysfunctional families that dont understand
  their children
• No idea how to help them
• Too concerned with themselves to worry about
  needs of their children
• J and L have realized this all along, which is
  why they turned to Mr. P

The Zoo

• Try to gain his forgiveness by taking him to the
  zoo
• Mr. P finds out Bobo died a week earlier
• His heart finally gives out with this last
  betrayal wifes death, J and L taking
  advantage, Bobos death
• Irony monkeys realize he died and appear to
  scream in grief

Johns Conclusion

• Really cared about Mr. P
• Doesnt want to grow old and die alone
• Knows he too will die one day
• Would rather be dead than be like the grown-ups
  that he knows that are dead already
• Claim they have already stopped thinking about
  their place in the world

Symbolism

• John thinks were all just baboons
• We build our own cages
• Maturity John now knows he cant blame anyone
  for his decisions
• Your life is what you make of it
• J and Ls friends used to boost their
  self-esteem have problems worse than them
• Kitten playing w/ the ball J and L thought that
  were playing with the party, but actually
  caused destruction
• Like how the kitten plays with the ball is
  training to kill
