• Half of Manhattans projected population growth
  to take place within St. Vincents primary
  service area, equaling 40,000 individuals
• Closures of St. Vincents Midtown Hospital and
  Cabrini Medical Center
• Created further geographic isolation of St.
  Vincents as the only hospital on the West Side
  between 57th Street and the Battery.
• Resulted in an increase in the hospitals
  emergency department volume.

• 366 acute care beds in new hospital
• 190 beds filled by admissions through the
  emergency department
• 170 beds filled by patients from clinical
  programs and referrals from affiliated physicians
• 6 observation beds to support the Comprehensive
  Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP)
• 85 mental health beds at the former Cabrini
  campus
• Emergency Department sized to accommodate
  approximately 66,000 visits
