What is Floral Foam?

• Most commonly used material for holding stems
• Soft, very absorbent, light weight material
• Should be thoroughly soaked before use

• When stems are placed in this material they are
  able to absorb the water from it.

Free-Float Method

• Place block of floral foam in a bucket or sink
  filled with preservative with water to a height
  greater than the foam
• As the foam absorbs the water, the foam will
  gradually sink.
• When ¼only 1/4 inch of the block remains above
  the surface, the block is saturated and ready to
  use.
